Pere David Deer originate from sub-tropical wet areas in China where they have been extinct for 100 years.  Therefore, it is rather amazing that they are easier keepers and actually do better than elk in the western Nebraska environment.  McRoberts Game Farm's Pere David Deer herd consists of around 80 head.
